$36 SOLUTION - 2008 Time To Get Serious!
It's time to get serious about our faith-based budget. At the conference's 2007 Annual Meeting the delegates approved a budget for 2008 which contained an income line item of almost $50,000. The anticipated source of this income:ALL OF US, the members of churches in the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference, who have faith in our ability to reach into our pockets and come up with this money. If 1,400 individuals in the conference (that's about one-quarter of the households who receive this newsletter) contribute just $36 in the form of a check to the conference, we will exceed this goal! But that means it's important for YOU to send a check; it doesn't mean you can assume everyone else will do it and you don't have to. We said we can do it. We have faith that we can do it. Now it's time to fulfill that leap of faith represented in our 2008 budget. It no doubt will be the best $36 expenditure we can make this year!
Children in Poverty
The program will feature Dr. Pamela Couture, St. Paul's Seminary, Kansas City. Her latest book is Child poverty: Love, Justice, and Social Responsibility. Recently the Seminary wrote: "Pamela Couture has been a passionate, informed, and insightful advocate for placing children in poverty at the top of our ministry agenda.
